Garden Bloggers Bloom Day

Well this is my first Garden Bloggers Bloom Day. Very exciting, but I'm afraid out of season for me. Snowing like crazy outside. Inside not a flower in sight. I do have some seedlings started, full of promise for a fantastic gardening season. Only 35 more days until spring!!! I'm ready, but must wait like the rest of us!! So until then, stay warm everyone, cont to keep telling us about the Robins sightings, and other spring events.

We have been in our home about 23 years now. I am a master gardener through Cornell Coop extension. We have a botanical garden that we run. Cutler Botanical Gardens in Binghamton. It is beautiful. I joined just for the fun, information/classes and got soo much more. We work our tails off, but it is fun. Its fun to hang out with other gardeners! My specialty is annuals, but I love them all. How about you?

We are affiliated with the Oklahoma State University. They have County Extension offices in most counties in the state. There they have a Horticutural specialist who heads the MG program, with volunteer MGs helping to answer phone questions to the office. We have a teaching garden on site, and take volunteer opportunites to work, teach and doo other duties throughout the county. Ours is a 13 week course, which you pay for by doing 60+ hours of phone service (answering hort questions at the extension office.) It's a great program, which I consider a service organization. We have several venues locally,Myriad Botanical Gardens, OKC Zoo, etc.

Thank you, There is nothiing better than playing in the dirt!! I can go out and just get lost! I did the same thing my first year with my green house. I started one garden at a time, my first one with some iris's from my grandparents old farm. My grandma and I went to see it one more time and we stole them. Come to find out my dad had stole them too from the farm he grew up on and gave them to my grandma. mine are still alive! 25 yrs ago we stole them!! My gardens have gone nuts since. Enjoy!!

Your jealous of me!!! Your pictures of your yard are just gorgeous!!! This is my first year gardening and I am just planning my landscaping for my yard. I've been looking at a bunch of landscaping books, and I need to make a decision soon. Yes, I do love my greenhouse. I started lettuce in there last month, and just started some herbs last weekend. I may steal some ideas from your yard...I love the picture with the blue birdhouse and blue building in the background. Here's to spring!
