Probably just some WD40 would clean it up, that's what I use when metal gets oxidized/rusty. Very cool idea, Nancy!
Get a bottle of chrome cleaner and set to work; 00 steel wool will help to polish it out also. I do not know why you'd ever part with it. I'm sure there are people who restore cars on this list, what are your methods for cleaning up chrome?

Nancy the photo of the red roses intwined in the wagon wheel is just awsome. Could the climbers be Blaze by any chance? The photo of the Robins eggs isn't bad either.
