Finally, IT"S RAINING ! I'm so happy, never thought I'd be happy to hear it rain. I'm sure my flowers are just loving this. It's also cooled down a lot. It's supposed to get into the 50's tonight.

I'm hoping for a colorful fall, so far it's been so dry this year nothing has done that fantastic. I worked a few hours in the shade garden yesterday, and boy is it dry. I've never seen it this bad. Pray for some rain. Hopefully fall will be better.…

The gardeners big delemma, To plant or not to plant...

Just kidding their really is never a question with me. The question is what to plant. Rainy days can be very dangerous for me. I generally go on the p/c and look for things to plant, new ideas and how to's. So living in New England especially this year the weather man has given me this opportunity to surf. I have a new flower bed going in in the front of the house, something I haven't done in 8 yrs. We did have some shrubs their but because of the pitch of my roof the winter snow destoyed them.… Continue

Garden trash or treasure?

I've put up a few photo's of the things my husband and I make for the garden. He's a great help to me not only does he do most of the brunt work but he also helps me with my garden junk projects. We make teacup bird feeders, they look great in the garden even when they don't have bird seed or butterfly food in them. We also make concrete bird baths from large leaves, such as burdock or rhubarb. I hope you enjoy them, would love to hear what you thought. Lyn

Pooped out!

Today finally no rain.:) What a great day to spend in the garden, so I did. I woke up early and went straight at it. I spent 4hrs weeding and pruning. I got so much accomplished , I just love that feeling. Not sure how every one else is doing but here in New Salem, MA we have had nothing but rain for so long. So when you get the chance you go for it.
This week I think I'll be looking for some new hosta. I saw some nice ones from members on this site. This is been a great help to me. Just reading… Continue

New England weather

Just when you think it's going to be , Do I dare say it "Nice" Well that's New England for you. Today it's only in the low 60's and cloudy. My garden is looking great but I wish I could sit out there and enjoy it more. The Irises, lupine and the peony are starting to bloom, love it!! I guess while it's a bit cool outside I'll just surf a little for new gardening ideas.

Thanks for visiting my garden. I am envious of your opportunity to have goats. I have always wanted a pair. I always told my husband we could pass them off in the sub-division as small dogs! Best we have been able to get away with is our rabbits -- great fertilizer for our gardens -- as will your goats provide! -- Beautiful job on your gardens!
