Hi Silvia, I was told that if you sprinkle epsom salts or spray a solution of water/e.salts that it would help keep them more healthy and fight off black spot. They are beautiful looking, but still no tomatoes.

I hope I'm leaving this comment in the right place. This is really hard to follow talking back and forth. I don't know if that was a butterfly or a moth. It actually was a sort of iridescent color. It may have even been some sort of wasp. We get so many unusual critters and bugs in our back yard and I'm always taking pictures and trying to find out what they are. I have a few more unusual ones I'll post and see if anyone can tell me what they are! I have one that is a PINK lady bug! PINK!!! I'll make sure you see it when I down load it!

I hope you don't mind but I'd like to introduce myself! I'm Robin Zaleski and I used to live in McKeesport Pa. I just found this group and I already feel right at home. I live in TN now but my whole family still live in McKeesport or actually White Oak.
Your gardens are lovely ! I've been trying like heck to get my husband to move back up there but after this year with all the snow I don't think he'll budge! I hope we can become friends and exchange garden ideas! Nice to know someone from back home!

Hi Janice, I used to have a pond, about 3 yrs. I had the goldfish and Koi, I had frogs that stayed, I even had a snake around it for a month or so. I had a couple of snails that grew as big as a tennis ball. The gold fish and Koi grew to be about 6 to 8 inches. My yard is still to wild for things like that. I ended up just feeding a hungry Raccoon and One day I came home to find a big dog swimming in the middle of it. He tore the liner in a few places and that is when I said that is enough for now and a water garden. When you have no control over the wild than you learn to live with it. Ron

Actually, putting plastic on the Greenhouse this weekend. I do start all my plants from seed. Everything in my pictures is Hierloom. I spent about 40 bucks on seeds a few years ago and haven't had to buy any since, and then on top of that, I'm mastering the art of seed saving so I never have to buy them again. Anymore, the only money I spend on my garden is for some fertilizer and fencing/staking materials. Also, I like the warm weather coming, I'm just a little nervous about my garlic popping up to early...

Diane, sorry for not making my message more clear - my reminder was about those shrubs that need to be scaled down and in my region (zones 5 & 6) the buds for the next season form on new growth in August so cutting the brunches after July would have…

Love this flower. Never was able to grow it though. Thought it was called queen Anns Lace. I think it adds charm to the garden.

Sheryl, that shouldn't be a problem, I have a seed feeder in close proximity and the humming birds seem happy enough to share. They just seem to perch on the tiny twigs where the big guys cant get to. Chech the surronding territory, perhaps someone…
