Well, are you smart yet from all your MG training? Happy spring.

Hey Georgeanne, wish success for your Master Gardeners schooling, It's a blast. I did it in '02. I raise succulents from around the world, and have several different garden types and water features. Will check out your pics after writing this note. Merry Christmas.

Wow, you've got your hands full amending the soil down there. Looking at your gardens I wouldn't know whats beneath because everything looks great. I'm hoping to achieve similar beds that you have created on the sloped portions of your yard.

Hi! I started really getting into the quilting when I was couch-bound with a knee injury. There's only so many soap operas and Jerry Springer episodes I could tolerate. LOL I tend to do the quilting more in the wintertime when I can't be out in the gardens. I don't know how cold your winters get, but maybe yo could learn then. LOL If you wait until you're arthritic and in a wheelchair, chances are, your fingers will be just as arthritic and not able to hold the needles. LOL

I wish I had more space .to garden-I'm in suburbia Long Island and the plots are under 1/2 acrea . To my son's delight my lawn area is getting smaller every year:)

Hi Georgeanne, I don't really have any cure for black spot . I have tried a few sprays but without much success. For some reason my roses seem happier than usual and who knows why but I do try to pick more disease resistant varieties. Also roses that can take cold winters. Its not unusual to get below zero weather North of Chicago.

Hi! I hope all will be okay with your husband's heel. It stinks to be down...
I had surgery last Thursday to repair a herniated disc in my lower back, caused by a car accident last June.
The good news is that not even a full week later I'm feeling really good. Aside from the incision pain, I'm virtually pain free. No more constant pain in my back, hips, and legs. There's still a lot of physical therapy to do, but this is a great start.
In most cases today, surgery is nothing like what they use to do. Hoping if your husband has to have surgery, that it's an easy fix.

I hate sweet tea too, but how about some pie? I'm glad you like the garden. I like yours too. Actually, I just had a pool estimated that would take up the center of the formal garden. I think I would use it every day!

Well I have several sources of water, 3 bird baths and our waterfall in our pond. Never had this problem before. I have always had hummers. Just wondering if the winter weather we had messed them up. Oh well maybe next year.

Diane, sorry for not making my message more clear - my reminder was about those shrubs that need to be scaled down and in my region (zones 5 & 6) the buds for the next season form on new growth in August so cutting the brunches after July would have…

Sheryl, that shouldn't be a problem, I have a seed feeder in close proximity and the humming birds seem happy enough to share. They just seem to perch on the tiny twigs where the big guys cant get to. Chech the surronding territory, perhaps someone…
