Here we are again!!!! End of another busy season!

Here i am again like most looking at all my flower gardens wishing it was still summer. The heavy frost have taken a toll on all my flowers . Although, we had a weird cool wet summer my gardens did their best. The roses were beautiful.. My newest project "English Garden" turned out to be beautiful.. I need to add lastest pictures. I did not have alot of time to tend to my flowers towards the end of summer due to caring for my parents and unexpected travelling. When i did come home, i was able to… Continue

Goofy Weather.

Here we are in mid July and we are having Spring like weather!!! Very strange. Nights are cool (50's) and there are other areas in the country where it is stiffiling. Although, some of my flowers are doing well with all the rain we have had, some plants are not doing so well. We have had an alot of rain storms and winds every few days. Due to the rain, my hay fields have yet to be cut. Fields are saturated. We should already have had two cuttings! Even my veggie don't look too good. We need less… Continue

Great Day!!!! Let me know what you think????

For as long as I remember, I always wanted a english garden. As a result of removing one of our large trees, I now have an opportunity to put one in. So a few weeks ago, I spent many hours looking at various English Garden ideas and designs. I know many of them are square and very larg… Continue

Hello Eloise, thanks for the hello. I really haven't been on here since Oct. My garden of course is bare now. The winter months and cold weather will soon be approaching. Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. The only thing that is blooming inside my house is my beartiful Christmas Cactus. Oh well, hope we don't have a bad winter this yr. I'm in southwest Pa. How are you doing?

beets, well you can boil, peel and slice or the best way is peel raw beets, put in food processor with the shredding blade, butter in fry pan and saute slowly covered about 20-25 min. YUM> or you can pickle, look on internet for recipes. i have hot beet soup recipe if you'd like. let me know.

Looks like someone does an awfully lot of mowing. Your place looks like a park. Very nice.

This has been the goofiest weather for Ohio in years. Makes me wonder what tornado season will bring. Tuesday we had whipping winds that moved all the outdoor furniture around and over. No rain, just scary wind.
I love the pictures of your place. So well manicured. I'm getting tired and need a helper :-) There is so much I want to do and so little time in the day. Your patio medallion is an inspiration. I'd like to do something like that out by the pond.

This has to be the weirdest summer in a very long time. The only good thing I can say about it is we aren't suffering from the heat while working in the garden:) I hope wherever you heard about a frost end of August is wrong, that would probably the earliest we ever had one. I was rather hoping we would finally have summer in August. Just planted cauliflower, broccoli and lettuce seeds.

GydaMarie, we call that the domino effect of home improvement. Karen, I would think grey would look washed out in the CA sunshine. I like your color choices much better. Our old house was off white stucco, taupe trim, grey porch with the cranberry…

My oregano grows like weeds. It's in the mint family and is really invasive. It is in full/part shade with pretty heavy clay soil.
