Hi Claudia, how are you? Thanks for checking in on me..(*.*) About the stove, I've had it for 15ys and it's always been in the garden. I just leave it as is. I was thinking about having it restored/refinished and bring it inside. Pretty costly I hear. However, I do enjoy it in the garden. Your garden and flowers are very nice.
Hi, Claudia...Understand completely. Your mother will be in my prayers. I'd heard you'd had snow in Deer Park...it only spit a little down here, but our ground is so wet and spongey. Do have a few things popping up, and I have lots of birds at my feeders and courting in the pines up behind the house...seems like spring is taking her own sweet time getting here. Take care, my dear. :-)
Hi Claudia,
Love your pics, especially of your dogs. I too love animals and have 2 cats that are my kids. Expecially love the pic of the moose. Was that right in your back yard? I see you live in WA which I have never been too but someday will. I have a friend who will be moving to Seattle soon for a job so I will finally have motivation travel again. Looks like you get quite a few more beautiful birds than I do in Wisconsin. I did get an Indigo Bunting one year but he never came back after his first visit.
Thanks Claudia. It has been a labor of love and my new passion in life. We were fortunate that when we bought this house, it already had the foundation of mature trees. The first year I added bushes, the second year I added perrenials, and the third year I started annual from seed. This is my fourth year and my seed starting indoors has grown to 2 small greenhouses indoors and I stole some space from my husbands workshop in the basement to add more grow lights to start perrenials that need cool weather to germinate.
Hi Claudia (I have to say it feels a little odd writing that . . . I feel like I'm writing to myself) :-) HA!
I know what you mean as far as animals. I have two dogs and two cats. I've had dogs my entire life . . . wouldn't be able to function without them, I am sure! If you ever have time to view my photos, you will see my 'babies' there. Zeus among the Balloon Flowers is one of them, and Jacy is my big, black, long-legged 70+ pound Standard Poodle - my big baby! It's nice to 'meet' you, friend!
I've found that heucheras don't like an unamended, heavy clay soil. My best success with them, including 'Palace Purple', is to add some compost or other soil amendment. Even in Missouri, the purple ones color up best with lots of sun.
Sounds wonderful Judy. Nice to have a great afternoon with the kids.I bet that was a lot of fun watching their "concert" I love kids laughter-Oh especially babies. Cracks me up.
I have this great piano and one day 3 of my students made up a song ab…
