For the past month of record high temperatures for the area which would then fall to freezing the next week, I have almost been thrown for when I should start planing my garden. I guess that I don't need to say that this is my first year having my own garden. But, it is, and I am new to all that it has to offer. For the past two weeks or so I have started seeing these iridescent black green beetles on my Soy Beans. I noticed about 3 weeks ago these little yellow and black striped beetles, and about a month ago when my "zukes" were starting to get ready and I found these brown triangular beetles. I do remember when I was a kid that my mother had a beautiful flower garden. There were bursts of color all over and she had to have had one of the most beautiful gardens in the neighborhood. When I became old enough to also dig in her pots and pick flowers thinking they were weeds, my mother would buy me a flat of marigolds to plant wherever I wanted.
