Very kool Lisa-I do not have any heirloom irises but I have found some of the names that i am missing on the web. There is a farm called "Pleasant Valley Farms" and they display photos of their irises. I am sure that there are others.

Michelle -- I love this story! Same as what I wrote in my blog "Family Tradition" (check it out). Passing down iris is keeping a piece of that person alive! What better living memorial!!!!!

This was a cold and snowy winter BUT all our plants seem to thrive on the cold weather. My iris and lilies are prettier than ever! I love the cool summers w/o AC -- makes up for everything w/ me! We were in Edenton for our anniversary in May though…

Every Spring there is at least one new piece about a mocking bird dive bombing some poor 5-9ers as they try to get into their buiding because of a close by nest. They really are interesting birds. I agree, inquisitive and outgoing but not mean.

Nice job Harry. Sounds like you have hard water. We had the same problem a few years ago. In our house we like to say, estimate the time to do a job. then double it!
