Willis, that is just great that you knew. I thought it looked like a toad lily, but I knew the leaf description wasn't the same as the toad lily.

Re: holly hocks--- they sometimes take a year or 2 to get established. I'd give them more time.

It looks like it might be some form of toad lily. You didn't give any indication of size or any other information.

Hiya, can anyone tell me what this is? I first thought it was a daylily but it has the leaves of an Iris. So I'm lost.

i planted Hollyhocks last yr, 1 bloomed this yr, but not the others. Can I expect blooms again for next yr or is that it?

Janet: I planted Spiderwort a couple of years ago. The Plant was in the shaded part of my garden and did well, with some blooming in the hot season. Then it just disappeared. Guess our winter was just too much for it.

It has been so hot this summer most of my gardens are seriously stressed. My poor roses have blooms about the size of a quarter, when they bloom which isn't often. However, I have Mexican Patunia's and they are loving the hot weather. They have multiplied and bloomed here in LA all summer.

Spiderwort is a pest for me and does have a long bloom time. it flops and no matter how much I think I've dug it out it returns. You might want to save your rose. LOL

Very beautiful Karen. This may seem funny but you will never guess where my appreciation of the harp was born. I hope you enjoy this link, and be sure that I very much liked your video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4NtCy9MfYk&feature=related
