Love the Great Egret, Lillian!
Wonderful shots Gail. Been looking for my little lone hummer again but haven't found him.
I am glad Earl downgraded. When Ivan and Dennis blew through, afterward we had the nicest dry, clear and a little cooler weather. All the better when I had to deal with this!

Great pictures this morning. Poor lizard! Glad the hurricane wasn't bad, Elizabeth. I guess it is cat 2 now.
My hummers are very busy. The male has finally appeared and is teaching the babies to come to the feeders. It is just crazy when that is happening. Lots of movement.

good morning my fellow birders...came thru the hurricane fine...just wind and some rain and the rest of the day will be windy and more rain but no damage done...my birds are sitting i nthe trees wondering where the heck their breakfast is so I am going to put back a few...can't have my babies go hungry!!! Husband due back late tonight so he missed it all...
Gail..one of your photos looks like it is empty and the hummers are looking quite disturbed!!

Great capture Lillian. Cathy...yes it is my daughter's wedding. She is getting married at the Cator Woolford Gardens in Atlanta. We have been making the trip to Atlanta (3 hours) quite a bit lately. The hummingbirds have been feeding heavily this past week. Getting ready to migrate south. Yesterday two of them almost flew into me as I came around the corner, the were chasing each other. I got a few clear photos yesterday...the light was just right.

Something we have done here in NW Florida before a hurricane is to fill our bathtubs up with water. If you lose power for any length of time, at least you have a supply for all kinds of uses - plants too.

Lydia, it sounds like you have a much bigger groundhog problem than I do! Funny thing is that our groundhog does not touch the tomatoes (although the chipmunks eat the ones that hang low on the plants). I guess that's because he is so obsessed with…

Thanks Mia and Tanya. These busy eaters will pretty much polish off all the Passion Vine leaves. Not to worry, they come back with a 'passion.'

Pretty boisterous thunderstorms in the middle of last night. Hubby slept through it. Our lovable mutt Rudy had to be sedated.. poor baby but he was fine then. JoJo, our 7 mo. old goldendoodle almost bounced off the bed when one super loud thunder cl…
